Fundraiser Descriptions


These fundraising opportunities are available for students, parents and friends of the band program to help support the cost of this great program. Check the Calendar-at-a-Glance for key dates for each event. All of these programs rely heavily on student and parent volunteer efforts. Please review the MBB Volunteers page for descriptions of opportunities for helping out with these worthy programs.
Note: Those fundraisers that are marked with a dollar sign result in dollars being assigned to Student Accounts.

Year Round Opportunities


   

Market Day - receive 10% - 20% of sales!

Market Day offers parents and neighbors a wide selection of restaurant quality food products, value priced. To receive credit of 10% of Market Day sales in your student's account, all you have to do is include your band student's name with your order. You may order Market Day online at www.marketday.com. Check the "Calendar" link at the top of this page for order deadlines as well as pick-up dates and times. Online orders are due by 11 pm on the Wednesday preceding the Saturday sale date.

Note: Profits for the months of September, November, December, February and April are shared with Special Needs. Profits during June, July and August are 100% for the BAND!

Dining Fundraisers  

Every year the Mustang Band Boosters partners with neighborhood restaurants for Dining Fundraisers. On the scheduled dates, the restaurants return a portion of the afternoon and/or evening's sales to the Mustang Band Boosters. The donations vary by restaurant, but typically range between 15%-25% of sales when accompanied by a promotion coupon. Coupons will be available for sharing with your friends, family and associates and are typically distributed during the Band Practices, via email and posted on our website.

    Louis' Tailors and Menswear

Buying a Downers Grove South letter jacket for your student? Louis' Tailors & Menswear, located at 748 Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove, will donate $10 to Mustang Band Boosters for every letter jacket that is purchased when Downers Grove South Mustang Bands is mentioned.

 
 

January Opportunity

    Lollipop Sale starting January 20th

The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide a student account fundraising opportunity for any eligible DGS music student. The lollipops come packaged in bags of 60, in an assortment of the most popular flavors. The student pays $40.00 up front for each bag of lollipops.

Of that $40.00…Students then sell the lollipops @ $0.75 each or 3 for $2.00. This pricing structure insures that at a minimum, the students will receive the $40.00 that was invested up front. The first pick-up date for Lollipops will be Friday, January 20 at 7:30 AM.       Butter Braids - Receive $2 per Butter Braid!

Need something to eat with your morning coffee or juice? Try tasty Butter Braids! These yummy frozen pastry dough loaves are available in 6 different tasty fillings. Just defrost overnight and bake for a wonderful accompaniment to your breakfast or brunch. Watch for the Butter Braid sale to begin in February. The $4 profit from the sale of each Butter Braid is split 50/50 between your student's account and the Mustang Band Boosters general fund. Looking for some Fun and Trivia?

Please join us for our 1st Annual “Trivia Game Night” & Silent Auction

  When: Saturday, February 11th 2012 from 7:00pm-11:00pm
  Where: at Downers Grove Moose Lodge, 1030 Warren Avenue, Downers Grove
  Cost: $15.00 per person (pizza to be provided). There will be a cash bar and you can bring some light snacks of your own also. There will be some great auction items to bid on (cash and or checks will be accepted)

This is an “adult” only night, you do not have to be a Booster member to join in.

April Opportunity

    Plant Sale - Receive 15% of Sales!            

With spring comes the annual Mustang Bands Spring Plant Sale. It is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. These flowers come from the Peterman Greenhouses in Portage, Michigan. We have used this supplier for many years and have been very satisfied with the beautiful and hardy plants that they provide to us. You'll be surprised at the great flowering varieties to choose from! Bedding plants and baskets of all kinds! Fall Opportunities

     Music Bowl 2012 -- Ad Sales and Sponsorships - receive 10% of sales!

 

Advertisements and corporate sponsorships are the major mean s of income for funding our Marching Mustang Music Bowl. Our Marching Mustangs are encouraged to sell program guide ads ranging from $40-$250 and/or sponsorships ranging from $500-$5000. Your student will receive student account credit of 10% of any ad sales or sponsorships that they bring in. Candy Bars - receive $25/box!

Got a sweet tooth? Know someone who does? Have we got a fundraiser for you! Our Candy Bar fundraiser is usually in September. These include a variety of delicious World's Finest chocolate bars, Sour Punch candies and more. They come packaged in a convenient case of 50. Each box of these assorted candy bars sells for $50 with 100% of the $25 profit going to student accounts! WOW! Our Chair person may be contacted at

Gourmet's Delight Cheesecakes --
Receive $2 - $2.50 per cheesecake!

This fundraiser starts in mid-November with product delivery in December - just in time for the holiday season!

With 16 varieties to choose from, these Gourmet's Delight Cheesecakes are made from the highest quality, fresh and natural ingredients with no preservatives. The $4 - $5 profit per cake is split 50/50 between the student's individual account and the Mustang Band Boosters general fund.
