Due to wet field conditions, the 2009 Music Bowl will be held INDOORS in the DGS Gymnasium. We are providing the following Updated Information for spectator guests and competing bands:
SPECTATORS:
Handicapped Parking - Please ask any of the Parking Attendants to direct you to Handicapped Parking.
Stadium Viewing - Viewing stands in the gymnasium are sufficient to accommodate 1,000 guests. We encourage spectators to remain seated until the break to allow us to keep the performing bands on schedule. Additional seating is also available in both the Auditorium and Cafeteria, where a live feed of the competition will be shown.
COMPETING BANDS
Ladders - We will have 4 ladders already set up in the gym for your use (3 in front and 1 backfield) and encourage you to use them rather than bringing in your own.
Pit Students - The pit crews will be directed to our small gymnasium. We will have several parents assigned to that area all day. Pit performers may leave their coats and personal belongings in this area during the day.
Band & Pit Staging - Performance times have not been changed. However, we have adjusted the Staging times slightly due to the reduced travel times needed from warm-up areas. New times (updated 10/16) have been posted on the Director's Page.
Changing Areas - Band members can change into their uniforms in their designated hallways or on their buses. Washrooms will be available for students in all the hallways.
Nurse's Station & Instrument Repair - Will be located at the Indoor Concession Stand in the large gym.
Wristbands - Originally we asked for the number of on-field helpers and chaperones needed to move props and equipment. Since the performance has moved indoors, we anticipate bands will be moving less equipment and require fewer adult helpers. As a result, we will limit the number of wristbands to staff and necessary personnel. We understand that other on-field volunteers will want to view the performance, and have significantly reduced our admission price due to this being an indoor performance.
